Virtual Production Stage

Create Infinite Virtual Worlds for Film and TV Drama

Our Virtual Production Stage / LED Volume comes in varying shapes & forms, up to 8m in height.

From 180-360-degree LED Volumes, that wrap around the talent, to four-sided LED cubes or straight LED walls with 90-degree returns, we can custom build your LED Volume to meet your production requirements & budgets. Our versatile approach introduces a more cost-effective & sustainable approach to virtual production, by not wasting money & power on unnecessary equipment.

Our LED Volumes are built with award-winning feature-film grade ROE Visual Diamond 2.6mm panels. Running on Brompton’s industry-leading SX40 LED processors these tiles have been calibrated for 10bit High Dynamic Range (HDR) ensuring optimum image quality with greater brightness and colour range.

Height-adjustable LED ceilings built with ROE Carbon 5.7mm LED ceiling usually illuminate the stage from above and additional CB5 movable LED dollies can be used for additional lighting purposes. Also run on Brompton processing, these high brightness panels can simulate real-world lighting environments whilst providing even coverage and are all controlled from the studio’s gallery.

A Disguise and Unreal Engine virtual production pipeline powers the stage and this enables both real-time content playback as well as pre-recorded plates.

Direct access through the ground floor loading bay enables large sets, props and vehicles to be brought into the space with ease.

Film:
Fireworks

DNEG, the multiple Oscar®, BAFTA and Emmy award-winning visual effects company and Dimension used our studios to shoot one of the first films in the UK shot entirely on the Volume.

'Fireworks' is a short film directed by DNEG’s Creative Director Paul Franklin, produced by Annalise Davis for Wilder Films, and written by screenwriter and playwright Steven Lally. The film is supported by Epic Games, Lipsync Post Production and StoryFutures Academy.

Commercial:
100% Shutterstock

Winner of “Best Use of Virtual Production” at Ideas Awards & nominated for a handful of tech innovation awards, the 100% commercial started with an interesting concept that offered creators a glimpse into what they can achieve creatively from Shutterstock’s library of content.

Shot at our studio, utilising the latest virtual production technology, the ad features a variety of virtual environments, crafted by pulling in a vibrant mixture of Shutterstock assets including photography, video, illustrations, 3D renders, and music.

TV Series:
While the Rest of Us Die

80six worked alongside Lexhag VFX and October Studios on a exciting virtual production project for VICE TV’S US based TV documentary series. 80six built to specs an open-cube LED volume at our studios which permitted shooting in real-time a variety of scenes that would’ve been difficult to shoot on-location and outside of a LED studio environment.
